Free Programme to Help Businesses Manage Staff Wellbeing and Sickness Absences

North London Businesses are invited to take part in WorkWell North-Central London, a free, pilot work and health programme for their staff.

WorkWell aims to help employers maintain a healthy workforce, reduce sickness absences, and enable a faster return to work for staff who are signed off sick. The programme works with businesses and their staff to provide a holistic and personalised focused on positive health outcomes.  Employees who join theprogramme will be assigned a friendly Work and Health Coach to meet with them weekly for a period of 2 months, to help them manage their health and increase their capacity for work.  The programme also provides access to a Multi-Disciplinary Team of experts in the fields of physical health, mental health, and employment.

According to the UK Government’s March 2025 Pathways to Work Green Paper:   “On average, employers could save between £5,000 and £11,000, for each employee they prevent from falling out of work”  This is exactly the kind of support WorkWell provides to businesses. By providing early support catching employees with health issues or health-related absences this helps to prevent costly staff turn-over and lengthy management processes.

Employers dealing with staff absences or issues at work caused by ill-health can refer their staff by emailing workwellnorth@shaw-trust.org.uk.  For any questions, or would if you would like to find out more about the service, please email Tom at thomas.harrington-roberts@shaw-trust.org.uk who would be happy to assist.

WorkWell is funded by the DWP and commissioned by North Central London Integrated Care System.
