Haringey Green New Deal Event

Green jobs: what are they and what could they mean for Haringey?

Start: Tuesday, April 20, 2021  7:00pm

Facing a huge employment crisis in the UK, we need a game-changing plan to create millions of sustainable jobs. Green jobs aren’t just about home insulation and renewable energy – they can be any work that provides a decent livelihood whilst supporting a low-carbon future, such as key worker jobs like teaching, health and social care. In this virtual event, we’ll hear panellists from local businesses, trade unions and policy experts about how we can tackle climate change while creating good and sustainable jobs. Join us to hear from local communities, experts and share your own thoughts.  NLCCE CEO, Despina Johnson, is one of the guest speakers on the panel.

Speakers include:

Yvonne Field, Founder & CEO of The Ubele Initiative

Despina Johnson, CEO of Enterprise Enfield & North London Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise

Denis Fernando, Climate Campaigner at Friends of the Earth

Edward Harlow, Haringey District, National Education Union
