O’DONOVAN WASTE DISPOSAL LTD RECOGNISED AS INDUSTRY LEADER IN FTA LOGISTICS AWARDS 2017 SHORTLIST
Employees at O’Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd are celebrating this week, after the company was named as one of 30 of the UK’s leading freight and logistics businesses on the shortlist for the 2017 FTA Logistics Awards. The awards, co-ordinated by the country’s leading logistics membership association, the Freight Transport Association (FTA) celebrate supply chain leadership and excellence, and recognise leaders who have made a significant contribution to the industry, either as individuals or as businesses. O’Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd has been shortlisted in the Logistics Champion of the Year for Essential Services category.
“We are thrilled to have been recognised by our work in waste disposal,” says MD Jacqueline O’Donovan, “as logistics businesses generally operate under the radar, unless something goes wrong. Being shortlisted for this prestigious award, alongside some other great companies, is a real acknowledgement of the hard work which all the team puts in to service our customers, and we are really looking forward to the awards presentation in December, when we hope we can pick up the ultimate prize.”
O’Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd’s entry will now be judged by the FTA’s Board, which represents some of the country’s biggest logistics businesses, against entries from the other shortlisted organisations, with the ultimate winners named at a glittering ceremony to be held at London’s Intercontinental Hotel on 13 December 2017.
In addition to the presentations, the evening will feature a keynote speech by Jesse Norman MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, and the induction of the inaugural members of the FTA’s Logistics Hall of Fame, in recognition of their significant contribution to keeping UK industry at the forefront of the global economy, as well as some amazing entertainment and a big name celebrity host.
“Without the knowledge and expertise of our shortlist, British industry and commerce would find it impossible to keep the wheels of business moving,” says David Wells, Chief Executive of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) which is co-ordinating the awards in partnership with Multimodal.
The judges were impressed with the quality and breadth of the entries, and those who have made it to the shortlist can be justly proud of their contribution to the UK’s economy. To walk away with the top prize, they will undoubtedly be the best of the best. Good luck to O’Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd and all the other finalists.
