New Government Job Guarantee Scheme – Expression of Interest Now Open
The Government are proposing a new Job Guarantee Scheme which provides employers with a funded opportunity to recruit and support young people aged 18-24 who have been claiming Universal Credit for 18 months or more and are actively seeking work. The scheme will create meaningful employment opportunities for local young people while helping employers access funded recruitment support.
Key benefits for employers include:
- Funding towards salary costs for 6 months, based on 25 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage.
- Flexibility to offer additional hours and top up wages if desired.
- A £250 onboarding payment to help cover recruitment and induction costs.
- Access to motivated candidates who are supported throughout their journey into employment.
- The opportunity to make a positive social impact while addressing recruitment needs within your business.

Important – PLEASE NOTE: after registering, you will be contacted by an Employer Engagement Officer, who will explain the programme, answer any questions, and guide you through the process. For employers based in the London Borough of Barnet, the allocated Employer Engagement Officer will be Jonathan Cohen. Employers should not complete or submit the Declaration Form until they have spoken with their Employer Engagement Officer and received further guidance.
